Sal Mallimo
A storyteller shaped by Calabria, New York, and a lifelong love of the moving image.

In 1958, Sal arrived in America from Calabria with his mother and six siblings to reunite with their father after two years apart. He became the first in his family to graduate high school, then attended the School of Visual Arts Film School in New York City.
After producing two award-winning animation films in college, Sal spent ten years as a Production Manager at JC Productions before founding Mimondo Productions, Ltd. His 35-year animation career became a lasting influence on the way he writes scenes, memories, and movement.
His books bring together memoir, poetry, art, and the visual imagination that has always been central to his work.
